The FITE Center for Independent Living works to promote the rights and independence of individuals with disabilities. We are committed to providing training and services to support those who wish to direct their own lives, live where they choose and have access to all the opportunities available within their community.
What We Do
The mission of the FITE Center for Independent Living is to:
- Provide individuals with all disability types the necessary training to support the pursuit of an independent lifestyle.
- Serve consumers with disabilities within our community by providing referrals for relevant services.
- Act as advocates to support the local enforcement of accessibility legislation.

The state is releasing the contractual funds on a case by case basis. Therefore, we may be unable to keep our doors open after July 31st. PLEASE CALL OR WRITE YOUR LOCAL LEGISLATOR TO SOLICIT THEM FOR HELP IN KEEPING OUR DOORS OPEN!

HOSPITAL ACCESS STUDY
Do you need better medical care? Are you a person with a disability? You may be able to help us with a hospital access project. We will look at hospitals in six Illinois counties. These counties are Cook, Lake, DuPage, Kane, Kendall, and McHenry counties.
