| About Us
FITE CIL assists persons with a wide range of disabilities to take responsibility for their own lives and achieve personal independence. Our services exist to support an individual's participation in their community so they may live a fully integrated, independent life. Our organization is managed by and for people with disabilities.
The center also works through advocacy and collective action to eliminate the public barriers that prevent people with disabilities from exercising their right to an independent lifestyle.
Location
FITE CIL is located in the Fox River Valley area, in the northwest of greater Chicago. Our office is located in Elgin serving Kane, McHenry and Kendall Counties. Contact us for detailed information on location and service hours.
Structure and Funding
FITE CIL, a chapter of the Illinois Centers for Independent Living (INCIL), is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization. We are partially funded through a grant from the Office of Rehabilitation Services. Our primary funding relies heavily on grant proposals and private donations.
